Purpose:Case report Methods: Results: We report on a 14 month old boy who was referred with a microphthalmic left eye at two months old. He was found to have a complex left ocular malformation involving microphthalmia, superior corneal opacity, incomplete aniridia and optic nerve aplasia. We present magnetic resonance scan images showing an absent left optic nerve and small left chiasm Conclusion: We discuss the case with reference to rare previous case reports and the relevance of current knowledge of mechanisms of ganglion cell axon guidance.
