Introduction: We here study the amblyopic factors in ptotic patients. Methods:the study we introduce is about 174 ptotic patients treated in our department between January 2006 and December 2008, ie simple ptosis, ptosis associated with oculomotors disorders, ptosis associated with ocular-eyelid syndroms. Results:amblyopic risk has a higher incidence in patients with associated forms than in simple ptosis.Amblyopic factors are: associated strabismus and/or anisometropia especially direct astigmatism. It’s highly inusual that ptosis itself induces amblyopia (major or syndromic ptosis) Conclusion:our results are the same found in trough the litterature confirming that isolated ptosis has a low incidence in amblyopia development.
