Research Grants

Dear Members of EPOS,

The EPOS Research Grant is given to a member of EPOS for a two year project covering expenses of up to 10.000 EUR per year. Any topic relevant to paediatric ophthalmology (except strabismus) or inherited eye disease will be acceptable, and there is no restriction as to the applicant´s age.

An application form is mandatory to apply for the EPOS Research Grant 2010. Please fill in the fields thoroughly and keep yourself to the limitations given in each field.

Submission closes on May 16, 2010.

Your application will be evaluated by members of the EPOS Board and specialists on your research topic from outside EPOS. You will be informed about the evaluation results prior to the annual meeting in Bad Nauheim. You should be prepared to give a short presentation about your research to the general assembly of EPOS.

Research Grant 2009

The 2009 Research Grant was given to Dr. Dr. Knut Stieger, Department of Ophthalmology, Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, Germany for his joint research project with the INSERM UMR U649, Laboratoire de Thérapie génique, Institute de Recherche Thérapeutique (IRT1), Nantes, France on "Evaluation of AAV mediated gene therapy for RPE65 patients by highly sensitive psychophysical techniques".
