Past, Present, Future – Branka Stirn-Kranjc (Local Host in Portoroz 2007) and Ingele Casteels (one of our local hosts in Leuven 2008) in a short briefing of Pascal Dureau facing to be the local host in 2009 in Paris. Pascal Dureau has also been elected Member of the Board for the 2009 – 2012 period.
The second newly elected Member of the Board for the 2009 – 2012 period is Gabriela Wirth-Barben, here together with our president Birgit Lorenz.
De Hallen in Leuven provided sufficient space for talks, discussions and posters.
The largest audience an EPOS Annual Meeting ever has seen gathered this year and enjoyed the familiar atmosphere which characterized EPOS during its past 34 years.

Caitriona Kirwan from Dublin, Ireland recieved the 2008 Travel Grant.
Francesca Manzotti
Francesca Manzotti from Parma, Italy recieved the 2008 Travel Grant.
Suzanne Yzer from Rotterdam, The Netherlands (here at at talk) recieved the Best Presentation Award for her talk on “The ocular and olfactory phenotype of LCA patients with mutations in CEP290”. The Best Presentation Award for the best poster went to Alexandra Creavin from Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, England for her poster on “Ophthalmic problems in children with Down syndrome: findings from England”.
